Spring Break

Well, today marks 5.5 weeks until school is done. It's crunch time. Final papers, opening the book and studying cause we all need A's now more than ever, and planning summer trips and internships like crazy. I really want to take a vacation to India or Costa Rica. But mainly, I want to go to Japan. It's just that is $$$. But if I do go, I want to spend longer than a week there this time. I'm thinking a month. Or a year. Haha.

I'm looking tomorrow at an apartment for the school year! Let's hope it's nice. It's at a close location to school and the woman living there seems normal. I just want my own room, so I can decorate it with a big painting, buy my own furniture and bed, and not have housing be in my apartment unexpectedly. It's just weird when they come in cause I live here but I never know when they're going to appear to change the vent filters or perform routine inspections. It's strange.

Spring Break Begins

I'm taking a poetry writing class this semester, and it's come to my attention that I should post some on here. I admit, I'm not the most enthusiastic about poems- in fact, most of them just annoy me, but there are a few poems that are really good, despite being so short. And of course, I like a few of my own. I just need to edit some of them, which I probably won't do until next month, since they're not due until then..

In other news, it's almost my birthday! The big 22. One week and one day remaining of being 21. I swear, I barely drank at all this year. Like maybe 4 times. 5.

Men

Today I decided to finally sit down and solve the problem of my main male character. Male characters... I've never had much trouble with them, except all mine had been rather fairy tale-esque up until now. And no real person is like a fairy tale character. Even the best of us have some major problems. And this one, I totally blanked when trying to think of who he is.


I've been avoiding it for all these months- writing all the background and plot, other characters, and plenty of actual writing (I'll have to go back in and add his personality to the blank character that is there now)-- But I've reached the point where I cannot write another word without having him. Because his face, I kept picturing a lot of my friends' faces. Because they were the closest thing to him. But none of them were right and they made me write him like them instead of him. I knew, once I saw the right face, it would all click. So I was going allllllllllll through the internet to no avail. Finally I went to grab more Starbursts, and all of the sudden, the person popped into my head. Just like with other details of my book, I have never been so sure about a decision before. It was perfect.


For legal reasons, I'm not going to say who I based the character on, but I am pleased that it's the perfect person. He just fits. I only chose his appearance, but it fits perfectly with the character, and you need to know the appearance to get the person right. At least, I do. I've never actually met this person, haha. So I'm just using the appearance, really. 100 dollars goes to the first person who can figure it out.

Right now, totally too tired to do any more writing. Sleeps... Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
